Saluting the prowess of all those who make cinema gripping, gritty and grand and recognizing and felicitating the finest independent cinema from South India The Lux Sandal Southscope Cine Awards 2010 will be held at the HICC (Hyderabad International Convention Centre), Hyderabad on September 19, 2010.
Announcing this at a Press Meet organized in city on Monday, Mr. Moorthy Sreenivasulu, M.D. & Publisher, Southscope said, We want to honour the originality and excellence of filmmakers, actors, technicians and artists across the four South Indian film industries viz. Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. Various Film Stars Rima Kallingal and Shammu also spoke on the occasion and disclosed the nominations from Malayalam film industry.
The theme of the awards is South is One. Elaborating on the same, he said that breaking cultural barriers is something the South Indian film industry can teach the world. Be it films made in Tamil that have become blockbusters in Telugu and Kannada regions, or Telugu actors whose star value has transcended regional borders, or Malayalam cinema that has caught the imagination of movie-goers across all four states, or the lilting Kannada film music that has caught the ear of listeners irrespective of the language they speak - the power of oneness, is all-pervading in South India Cinema. A phenomenon unique only to it, Southscopes latest edition of awards salutes this spirit.
Giving details Mr. Rajendra Prasad of Sprint Telefilms said that Southscope has followed a stringent selection process by eminent jury personalities - professionals from the film and music fraternity.

The guest list for the scintillating Southscope Cine Awards 2010 comprises of the whos who of South Indian cinema. Apart from nominees in all categories, and other stars, we expect Chiranjeevi, Vikram, Suriya, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Nagarjuna, Puneet Rajkumar, Venkatesh, Ramcharan Tej, Allu Arjun, Ravi Teja, Shriya Saran, Reema Sen, Prabhu Deva, Nayanthara, Jyothika, Vijay, Simbu, Namita, Soundarya Rajnikanth, Upendra, Ramya, Pooja Gandhi to make up the august audience informed Mr. Moorthy.
The elusive Ms. Sridevi Boney Kapoor will grace the occasion and give away a very important award on Southscopes special request. This will be her first major appearance after a hiatus of two decades. Preeminent names from the fashion industry, CEOs, celebrities, bureaucrats, politicians, whos who of the State will also be invited for the awards ceremony.
As an interlude to the presentation ceremony, there will be electrifying performances by prominent film personalities. Genelia, Tamannah, Mamta Mohandas, Charmme, Sruthi Hassan, Reema Sen, Vijay, Yash, Arjun, Bharat and others are expected to set the stage on fire with their hi-voltage acts.
Current Indian Idol, Sriram will get the audience swaying to his resonant voice.
The Show will be hosted by the glamorous duo of Shriya Saran and Shyam (Kick fame).
