Consolidating 526 states was a complex task when all the systems needed to be unified. The period 1937-1962 was a trouble period for our country. Year 1962 was the dividing line while there were disputes with Peoples Republic. Year 1965 started well, but then Pandit Nehru left us. 1967-1975 was a phase of socialistic populism and then 80s was the most destructive decade. In 90s, India swung back. All these years, the problems that we faced are corruption of spirit, governance, mindset, inflation, agriculture, infrastructure, and neighborhood. Internally, we had been disorganized and unless the house is in order, dreams will wither away.

Taking the discussion forward and talking about The Economic strategy for the dream that we outline for India, Mr Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman-Planning Commission, said, 10 years ago, nobody talked about India as a potential emerging market. We dont say that we have achieved all our objectives. Our objectives were to bring about faster & more inclusive growth and there is a lot that needs to be done to make sure that the growth continues. Actually, it should be even faster than it actually is and more importantly it should be inclusive.

This discussion encapsulated Indias development journey since Independence and highlighted setbacks, opportunities and achievements in the various areas like National Economy, GDP growth & Development, Political leadership etc. during all these years. It was an interactive session and the discussion included a couple of question-answer rounds with the esteemed panel.

Panelists for the session included Kalikesh Singh Deo-Member of Parliament,Sanjay Gupta-Film Director, Anuja Chauhan, - Author.

Airing his views in this regards, said, Kalikesh Singh Deo-Member of Parliament, India is a mixed bag of options. We have a lot of things to be optimistic about and look forward to. We need to understand the psychology of the young generation. Todays youth is more focused about their own requirements, livelihood etc. and we need to gear our thinking process, our system and governance to work along the psychological motivations of theirs. Need of the hour is to recognize what prevails and what needs to prevail in India.

This discussion addressed the key issues and challenges faced by Indias youth in Education, Employment etc. and the Governments inefficacy in dealing with these challenges. These young minds of India also answered the queries from the audience. The audience consisted of members of the prestigious CEO Clubs of India as well as CEOs of various leading companies in India.
