Faridabad,Continuing with its commitment to offer unmatched communication and infotainment to its listeners, Radio Manav Rachna 107.8 FM, Faridabads first community radio, has once again launched a unique talent hunt for singing sensations of Delhi NCR Sur Aapke Geet Rafi Ke,  a singing contest which will identify young music talent from across Delhi NCR, and parts of Haryana, and give them an opportunity to perform Live on 31st July, which marks the 30th death anniversary of Mohammed Rafi, the singing legend of the Hindi Film music industry.

As a tribute to the legendary singer the participants would have to sing songs sung by Mohd. Rafi during the competition. The winners will be announced on the 29th July 2010 from the participants selected during the auditions and will perform live on the 31st on the radio station and will win attractive prizes.

This competition aims to discover young versatile singers and provide them an opportunity to perform on the community radio station at Manav Rachna International University, Faridabad.

The competition is open to both male and female candidates in two categories of participation, first in the 16 to 30 years and second in the 31 and above bracket. Interested listeners can register by depositing an entry fee of Rs. 200 along with their age proof at the venue and give their auditions. The last date for audition is June 26th.

The candidates will be selected by an expert jury and the selected candidates will get a chance to be part of the Grand Finale on 29th July.

This competition is a golden opportunity to hear your voice on Radio and the singers would also be awarded a participation certificate by the radio station.

Community Radio Station Manav Rachna - 107.8 is an innovative venture of MR Education Society in the field of communication and interaction as it addresses the problems of the community. It was formally inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister of Haryana, Sh. Bhupinder Singh Hooda on 10th July 2009. It has started airing its various programs for the benefit of members of the community residing within a radius of 10 km from the campus of Manav Rachna Educational Institutions.

The primary members of the community are the students, local residents of Faridabad and adjoining villages as well as resident of slums on the periphery of Faridabad. Apart from providing entertainment by various old and new songs, it disseminates information about various career options. In addition it broadcasts various programs which aim at bringing about awareness amongst the members about their health & allied problems related to sanitation and hygiene.

This radio station is empowering the masses by serving as a window to the world. Though it is hardly three months old yet it is broadcasting various programs from 7am to 11pm everyday, including Sundays. It is proposed to enhance the coverage substantially in near future.
