When the whole world is going waka waka over FIFA World Cup 2010 can North Bengal and Sikkim be left behind? The towns have been painted in multitude of colours of the various teams battling for the FIFA World Cup and a car whizzing by with a team flag has become a common sight here.

NINE FM has a series of programmes lined up to indulge its listeners in the football spirit. North Bengal and Sikkim being football loving regions, the listeners are actively a participating in the Head to Head Contest, which is an on air contest where listeners are asked questions related to World Cup. The winner of the day is announced in the evening show. The listeners have prizes galore to win - MP3 players, Gift vouchers, T-shirts and more from the contest.

NINE FM is also giving regular updates of the matches in Kick Off 2010. Listeners get a peek into the games, prior and post, with experts from goal.com and also from local footballers of national repute. The listeners will have to register beforehand for the Football Dribbling Contest. The winner gets to dine with a celebrity footballer.

NINE FM has also partnered with a Club in Kalimpong which has organized a month long World Cup Fest. The fest has expert panel discussions, food festival, 5/5 penalty football tournament, screening of the matches in wide screen and a whole lot of entertainment. NINE FM is airing regular live links from the venue and is also a part of the shows there.
