Chandigarh,To celebrate the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi, the Punjab and Chandigarh stations of BIG FM served volley of offerings including programming content in true Punjabi style. BIG FM customised its programming content in typical Punjabi style with oodles of humour, music and contests. Special on air content was weaved around the theme Punjabiyan De Thaath Vakhrey meaning Punjabis are stylish and different. Going the traditional way, some exclusive interviews of famous Punjabi Singers and Poets were played including Shiv Kumar Batalavi, Babu Singh Mann, Harbhajan Mann, Wadali Brothers. Listeners go to listen to traditional Punjabi folks and good music. Special contest were played based on topics like 10 Punjabi habits,
BIG FM Chandigarh Station invited its listeners for dance and party at the BIG Bazaar Mall situated in Zirakpur near Chandigarh. RJ Satya and RJ Sofie played games with the listeners and served a chance to win exciting gifts. To entertain the residents, BIG RJs also presented Bhangra on the floors of BIG Bazaar.
BIG FM Jalandhar BIG RJs went on the roads and played games with the residents. RJ Mamta gave away special gift hampers to the listeners. Most of them were women and got to win gifts including jewellery and beauty service coupons.
BIG FM Amritsar, RJ Simran and RJ Harry spent their day at the famous Alpha Mall and played funny games with like panga, tongue twister and a special performance by local mimicry artists. Special on air bytes from Golden Temple were also recorded for the listeners.
At BIG FM Patiala Lassi Drinking Competitions saw huge response of the city residents with heavy participation of the listeners. The competition started at around 5:00pm at a local Bazaar and kept on happening till late evening. RJ Dhanveer and RJ Geet conducted the Lassi Drinking show and gave away surprise gift hampers to the winners.
