Mumbai,Its been one year since the world lost one of its greatest pop icons - Michael Jackson. One year down the line, its time to pay a befitting tribute to the legend with dance, glamour and style.
Gitanjali Presents Cant Stop Dancing...A Tribute to The King of Pop, Michael Jackson on his first death anniversary, 25th June 2010, at Shanmukhananda auditorium, Sion. The concert for a cause is in association with NGO - Hope worldwide, an initiative by Rahul Saxenna, well known choreographer Rahul Saxenna who will be taking the audience down memory lane as they perform to Michael Jacksons ten most famous tracks. Television actor Prachee Shah will also be grooving to one of MJs classic numbers while Raageshwari Loomba will be giving a scintillating performance, as she will be singing three rocking numbers.
Adding to the glitterati of the event will be the showcasing of an exclusive MJ collection designed by Archana Kochhar. Actresses Geeta Basra and Vidya Malwade will be seen sashaying down the ramp for her while the music director duo Salim-Sulaiman will add a touch of music to her collection by being the showstoppers. Watch these celebrities set the ramp ablaze in a stunning collection of his trademark styles with a touch of fusion.
The collection entitled Black and white is inspired by the duality of the Life which Jackson led. I have interrupted the Glitz and Glamour of his stage costume and crafted this line which summarizes his spirit. I have done this cocktail range in fluid lycra, sequined sheaths, amplified with antique victorian embellishments and chain mail details. I have re-interpreted the Micheal look and not literally done a Costume Take. The Look is amplified with sheered Gloves and crumpled hairdo says Archana Kochhar.
She further adds It was great experience, to go through archives of such a showman and also been amazing to see how he has evolved on his appearance... how he has emerged as an icon of the century. It was thrilling to see him perform and equally exciting to work on this collection, which I tried to capture his ambitious and dramatic dressing in a much more modern context for contemporary audiences with individual edginess.
Says Rahul Saxenna Michael Jackson, the name itself is synonymous to magic, power & talent personified. Like millions, I too have been inspired throughout my life by his talent & hard work. Last year on the 25th of June, 2009 when I heard of his sad demise, the world seemed to have stopped for that moment for me & I believe for millions like me. He not only created a revolution in singing but also in various fields of showbiz including dance, music composition, choreography & direction that was way ahead of his time. Besides this his innumerable good deeds inspired me to give the proceedings of this show as charity to HOPE Worldwide to do my bit to help bring a change to the lives of some underprivileged children. Every single individual in the world of entertainment looks up to the legend in some way or the other. Michael Jackson will be happy to see from above that his music and dance is taken very seriously by the new generation as well. Michael will never die & will remain in our hearts forever.
A Tribute to him is the smallest gratitude which I could give in return for the timeless music, dance, entertainment & inspiration he has given me & the entire world. His music will live forever.

Says Salim Merchant Michael Jackson was the king of pop, like all music lovers, I have been too a great patron of his music and been following his music for a long time. My presence in this show gives me great honor to pay tribute to him. Walking the ramp in Archanas MJ style outfit would be different and we are looking forward for this experience.
