Mumbai, AmeriCares, a Global non-profit international disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization, has conferred the Spirit of Humanity Awards on individuals and organizations in recognition of their role in improving healthcare delivery in the country.

The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by a Pharmaceutical Company was Awarded to Wockhardt Foundation, sponsored by Green Room Media and presented by Mahendra Parikh and Raageshwari.

On receiving the award Mr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala, CEO, Wockhardt Foundation, said, Wockhardt Foundation has 10 very important social and moral programmes. AmeriCares has been generous enough to help with required medication since we could reach the underprivileged sections of the society with our Mobile Medical Unit which comprises of our Mobile Health Reach & Right to Vision Vans which are Reach in Approach, where early diagnosis & treatment opportunities are provided at the door step of the Poor, Weak and Needy, by which we can help the citizens who are below the poverty line, absolutely Free of Cost. We also operate Right to Vision Vans in Lucknow, Amethi, Aurangabad & Mumbai, this helps in diagnosing fatal cases like Cataract, Glaucoma, Retinopathy, etc at the earliest and this helps in preventing blindness which may occur due to delayed diagnosis. The Programmes are implemented by a dedicated team of Warriors who take the responsibility to make a difference. The foundation also has other initiatives apart from the health programmes, like Khel Khel Mein, Voice and Human Values. A very important philosophy that the Wockhardt Foundation stands by is that Mankind is one family dependent on God and the most beloved to God is the One most beneficial to it
