New Delhi, A sizable number of patients are coming to India for medical treatment from East African countries- particularly from Kenya & Uganda. As per Indian High Commission based in Kenya & Uganda in 2009 approx. 12000-15000 people have travelled to India for various medical treatments.

Kenya and Uganda health infrastructure suffers from urban-rural and regional imbalances, lack of investment, and a personnel shortage. The volume of trade between India and Uganda has increased; India is now the second largest exporter. Indian exports constitute around 8.5% of Uganda total imports.
