Dehradun, Himachal, It is a part of Spanco determined initiative to take BPOs to people rather than bringing people to BPOs. After having fairly large size operations in USA, UK, Middle East, Mumbai, Gurgoan and Kolkata, employing over 7500 people, Spanco is starting operations in Dehradun for one of the large telecom service provider, IDEA Cellular, for their UP (West) and UP (East) circles. The facility is equipped with state of art infrastructure and is built to meet the best of international standards. BPO operations of the Spanco Group are poised to grow from the current run rate of about Rs 250 Crores pa to Rs 500 Crores pa by the end of year 2010-11.
According to Mr Pravin Kumar, CEO, Spanco BPO, "Dehradun is ideally suited for providing call centre services in Northern India, as it offers a large pool of educated young population, speaking all north Indian languages including English, Hindi Punjabi and Himachali etc. It is a power surplus state & has ideal environment conditions for a BPO operation and is very well connected to all the major cities in North India including Delhi. With much lower attrition and operation costs as compared to the larger cities like Delhi, Noida or Gurgaon, it should be possible to provide high quality BPO service at optimal cost from Dehradun". While SPANCO BPO is starting with 250 seats operation in Dehradun, it expects to grow to about 1000 seats, within next 12 months.
