Shama is a proud mother of a baby girl  She feels blessed and is at peace with herself but she did not feel the same a few days back when she and her husband  Salman were told by the local dai who after examining her womb  said that the child had perhaps not developed fully  There was possibility of developing further complications and even that the child may be born underweight  The couple then decided that it would best for them to go to a specialized yet affordable health facility where their situation will be dealt with medical care and attention
Then immediately they rushed to the nearby facility and within a few hours  Shama delivered a baby girl  Today  the family is thankful to the doctor and the staff for making this entire experience a memorable and pleasant one  to cherish for life  Shama has got the service   care at right time but number of other women in our state like Shama are deprived of such maternal health facilities   misguided due to ignorance  poor accessibility   unaffordable prices   hence with the vision to change the picture of the health scenario of Uttar Pradesh   Hindustan Latex  Family Planning Promotion Trust   SIFPSA   USAID joined hands   launched Merrygold Health Network in the year 2007
The network was established with specific mandate to promote affordable   quality institutional delivery   maternal   child health services at affordable rates so that low income group can avail the services
The project was designed at the mechanism with the approach to get smooth access of services for under privileged community  The level 1 franchisee established at district level as the centre point connected to level 2 and level 3  Level 2 comprises of Merry silver clinics located at subdivision   block level  where level 3 or Merry Tarang members were working as first point of contact with the needy community as also referral support to Merry silver clinics   Merry gold hospitals
The project assigned a task to establish 70 Merry gold Hospitals  350 Merry silver clinics and 10500 Merry Tarang Members in 35 districts of Uttar Pradesh over the period of three years
The Team leader of Meerygold Health Network Mr  Birendra Kumar further told that  During the journey of almost three years  Merry gold Health network has given an emphasis on affordable pricing  quality assurance  customer servicing   efficient delivery through standardized operating protocols on one hand where in other aspect IT enabled hospital management system has also introduced   imparted training to MGHN team including Merry tarang members with integrated health policy for coverage of risk during maternity for the clients  
Touching to the new heights in the field of maternal   child care  Merry gold Health Network is currently working as the largest network of Uttar Pradesh with 64 merry gold hospitals  367 Merry silver clinics and 10880 Merry Tarang members in 36 districts by providing safe delivery to 84 489 women  ante natal care to 4 63 714   family planning services to 29363 women with break up of providing IUCD services to 23370 women   sterilization to more than 5993 women
