Pune, Maharashtra, The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT 2010) is being conducted for the first time, under the aegis of National Monitoring Committee, All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi by The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara. Persons who are holding Bachelor\\\'s degree in Pharmacy in Final Year of B.Pharm Completed B.Pharm degree after lateral entry into B.Pharm after D.Pharmacy are eligible to appear for GPAT 2010.
Admission to M.Pharm Courses in Pharmacy colleges all over India will be given based on the performance in GPAT. And only GPAT qualified students will be eligible for the stipend in M.Pharm. Earlier admission and stipend were given based on the GATE exam in Pharmacy. But from 2010 onwards, GATE is not being conducted for Pharmacy students and it has been replaced by GPAT.
The free scholarship Test for GPAT will be conducted in the pattern of The GPAT-2010 question paper and will consist of one hundred (100 No.) multiple choice objective questions for 100 marks with every wrong answer getting 1/3 negative marks. The type of questions asked in this examination would be to evaluate a candidates aptitude and subject knowledge of Pharmacy field which may involve basic principles, facts, formulae/laws, understanding of the fundamental ideas, and application or drawing observations of the fundamentals of pharmacy discipline.
By taking this test the aspirants of GPAT will be able to evaluate their performance by comparing themselves with students from all over India (40 cities). The results of the test in terms of All India Rank and Percentile Score will be available on the The students will also be able to evaluate their performance in each topic of the test through the section wise comparative analysis, which is provided along with the test results. The top three rankers in each city would be given 50%, 30% and 20% scholarship respectively for any of the Gateforum packages - Classroom Coaching (available in select cities), eTutor (online coaching), Correspondence Course, All India Test Series and Online Test Series. More than 100 scholarships are available across India based on the March 7th test.
