Noida, Uttar Pradesh, Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), the flagship university of higher education in technology under "Jaypee Education System" (JES) fully backed and supported by the Jaypee Group of Companies and under aegis of Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan (A not-for-profit trust created by the Group as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility) hosted its 6th annual convocation today. On an eventful day, where many renowned guests participated, more than 700 students were felicitated. Amongst key dignitaries present in the function were Prof. William C Webster, Former vice provost, University of California at Berkley and Shri Jaiprakash Gaur, Founder Chancellor, JIIT. Shri Manoj Gaur, the Chancellor presided over the function.

It was a historic occasion for JIIT, which has established a niche for itself in its short yet proud history by trail blazing a path of excellence in education and rightfully emerging as a preferred destination of students seeking admissions of a very high quality education. Making a humble beginning with admission of 240 undergraduate students, for the Graduate Diploma programme in Information Technology; the progression speaks volumes of the transitory path of glory, single minded devotion, dedication and untiring efforts of the team.

Speaking on the occasion Prof. William C Webster, Former vice provost, University of California at Berkley said, "JIIT has played a stellar role in last five years in imparting quality education in the field of Information Technology, which has played a key role in India\'s rapid growth. I request the young graduates to act decisively and capture the existing opportunities to put India on path of accelerated growth & development."

"There has been an important role of JIIT in imparting the quality education and turning the aspiring youngsters of today into vibrant professionals and has thus contributed in its own humble way to the India\'s rapid growth. The young graduates should use their knowledge imbibed over the years and especially at JIIT to explore the vast spectrum and areas of growth and development. The graduates in Technology and Management are the most talented young men who must think and act differently from the generation before them. It is under their leadership, that the country will achieve her rightful place in the world", added, Prof. William C Webster.

Shri Jaiprakash Gaur, Founder Chancellor, Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, said "Our motto is \'Vidya Tatva Jyotisam\'; which means Education, Enlightenment and Empowerment."

"On the path of progress, education is the medium that can allow our country to not only conserve its culture but also igniting the minds of our young countrymen and empowering them to be at par with the citizens of other developed countries.Our endeavor is to provide quality learning through our educational institutions. We have total 24 education institutions, and all of them have succeeded in creating responsible and able citizens who are committed to contribute in the country\'s growth through their flourishing individual career", added, Shri Jaiprakash Gaur.

The Chancellor, Shri Manoj Gaur shared his vision of Jaypee Education System towards providing quality education in all spheres and guided the Alumni on how to succeed in the Challenging times now without sacrificing personal and family values. He advised the Alumni that there is no shortcut to success and hard work and commitment can alone guide a person to the desired goals and one\'s own destiny.

The main convocation event was preceded by a cultural evening the previous night, when technocrats were kept spell bound by Mr. Shekhar Suman and his entourage.
