New Delhi, Delhi, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd. (TKM) announced today that it has recorded the highest sales for a calendar year with a 107 per cent growth at 55,497 units in 2009 and the highest monthly sales in December with a 221 per cent growth at 7,657 units.
The Innova and Corolla continued to maintain leadership in their respective segments, and the Fortuner contributed by recording sales of 3,154 units since its launch in
August 2009. A clear indication that Toyota is surging ahead in India and is on its way to increasing its market share in the country.
Commenting on the company record sales, Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director, (Marketing) TKM said, "We are thrilled with our performance last year and very happy to announce our record sales growth for the calendar year and the month of December. This has been made possible thanks to a combined effort from all our dealers, vendors and each and every Toyota employee in India. We also thank our 4.1 lakh Toyota customers in India and look forward to 2010 with higher aspirations."
