Mumbai, Actress artiste Rashmi Pitre showcases a unique concept of PAINTING WITH POETRY at the ART DESH Art Gallery Exhibition at Walkeshwar from 29th July to 7th August 2010. The subject of her paintings is Hidden Emotions and the Search for Enlightenment while the poetry just goes with the flow. She has co-ordinated Painting with Poetry in a daringly different concept. Incidentally, Rashmi, who was a main lead actress in Marathi film PISARA with Mohan Joshi n Kuldeep Pawar, has signed a Hindi film with Rajshri Productions.
Rashmi studied ANCIENT INDIAN CULTURE (Philosophy) from St. Xaviers College, Fort, Mumbai for 5 years - B.A. with Hons. and has done a Diploma in Philosophy of Buddhism from K.J. Somaiya Institute of Religious Studies, Vidyavihar, Mumbai.
Rashmi passed the J.J School of Art Entrance Exam but she chose to continue her education in St. Xaviers College as she wanted knowledge of Indias ancient rich culture and the original philosophy that she incorporates in all her paintings today. She thinks art takes shape from the inner soul of a person and many times its spontaneous. She learnt painting from a J. J. School artiste since her school days. Rashmi won over 60 prizes --- Gold Medals and Silver Medals in State and National Drawing and Painting Competitions.
Rashmi writes English poems and has completed writing 150 English poems.
Rashmis Group Exhibition with established and known artistes Color Conclave was on from 16th July to 24th July at Coomaraswamy Hall, Formerly Prince of Wales Museum, Near Jehangir Art Gallery, Kalaghoda. The Gallery had exhibited her painting - THE BUDDHA - His Search for Enlightenment and OM the Universal Colors. She exhibited her paintings with paintings of Ajay De, Lalitha Lajmi, Prafulla Dahanukar and others.
Currently, Rashmis exhibition is going on at Artists Centre Art Gallery, Kalaghoda. Her painting- The Universal Woman is exhibited in this annual art exhibition - Elements 2. Pheroza Godrej inaugurated the exhibition, which was on from 22nd July till 1st August 2010.
Rashmi recently did an exhibition of her paintings at Penne, Juhu and Artist Centre (Annual Art Exhibition, 2009), Grand Sarovar Premiere, Goregaon, Rolling Beans Versova and The Royal Bombay Yacht Club. Also she had showings at Sejal Encasa Art Gallery, Kandivali. One of her paintings is with Ad Guru Alyque Padamsee.
As an actress, Rashmi has won 10 first prizes in several State level prestigious competitions and she has acted in several commercial and experimental plays in English, Hindi and Marathi for 6 years.
Rashmi was a part of the chat show Lift Kara De on Sony TV with Host Karan Johar n Guest - Deepika Padukone. She walked the Ramp in their segment recently. She has acted in many serials like Main Teri Parchhain Hoon on Imagine Tv (long throughout role), Yaha Main Ghar Ghar Kheli on Zee Tv, Palkon ki chhaon Main, CID, and she is currently acting in Bidaai on Star Plus.
